Shizuoka Prefecture police have arrested Yo-Kyou, a 30-year-old employee of anime production TBS (Clannad, K-On!, Fate/stay night), for allegedly kidnapping a teenaged girl from her home in Shizuoka.
According to the police, the suspect kidnapped the victim from her home in Shizuoka and took her to his home in Shibuya, Tokyo. She was missing from mid-August to September 2. The victim’s family filed a missing person’s report when she went missing in mid-August. The police spotted the suspect and the girl further north in Sapporo City on Sunday morning. The police arrested the suspect on the spot and brought back the girl unharmed. The authorities have not stated if Yo-Kyou admitted or denied the charge.
Yo-Kyou joined TBS in 2015 and has been credited for the currently airing anime series Shichisei no Subaru. He appeared on the live-streams for the tie-in specials for the series back in July. The company expressed deep regret for the arrest of its employee and apologized to the victim, her family, and others involved in the matter. The company added that it is investigating the matter before dealing with it with strictness and fairness.
